I never tire of highlighting the strength of our agribusiness and everything it represents for Brazil's economy. Year after year, we are breaking productivity records, job creation, and innovations applied in the field and, above all, making this sector an example in terms of sustainability and nature preservation.
In the last 30 years our agriculture jumped from 57 million tons to 280 million tons produced per year, an extraordinary growth of 370%. Meanwhile, the production area went from 37 million hectares to 74 million hectares, an increase of 90%; which corresponds to only 8% in the national territory. Without this jump in production, we would need 178 million hectares to produce the same amount of food.

We saved land that today is preserved and we still have more than 160 million hectares of pastures, which in addition to producing our animal protein, can quickly become arable areas and integrate crops and livestock into a single ecosystem.
The future is in Brazil: we play a key role in producing food for the world and conserving the environment. We must not run away from our responsibilities, even though we are aware that many nations have not maintained – or do not maintain – the same level of commitment in relation to the preservation of their native forests.

As in agriculture, in football we also had a great evolution in the last 30 years, in terms of technology of the sport, physical preparation, schemes and tactical variations. Incidentally, Brazil is a protagonist in the field, whether in agriculture or football.
Being one of the sponsors of the World Cup in Qatar is a gift from UPL to Brazil and to our agribusiness.
As one of the most important providers of solutions for agriculture in Brazil, through its partnership with the Fifa Foundation, UPL has the opportunity to present to the world the enormous evolution that Brazilian agribusiness has made towards productivity and sustainability.
The agreement with FIFA reaffirms UPL's commitment to fight for the food security of billions of people around the world, offering solutions that help farmers to increase productivity, reduce costs and increase their profitability.
Through the evolution of agriculture, we intend to mitigate the emission of 1 gigaton of carbon in the atmosphere by 2040. And for that, we work on the development of methodologies that allow remunerating rural producers for the reduction and sequestration of carbon in several countries of the world, including Brazil .
We remain firm in the purpose of reimagining sustainability in agriculture, offering products and technologies that enable the adoption of regenerative practices; that improve soil health, reduce risks to the producer, promoting a more digital and efficient agriculture.
We have developed a wide portfolio of biosolutions, which help farmers to preserve biodiversity, reduce the level of greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the use of conventional fertilizers. In addition, our biosolutions contribute to greater resilience, health and productivity of plantations.
To further enhance our partnership with Fifa, we selected the player Cafu, our eternal captain of the fifth championship, to participate in this journey together with the UPL and the farmers.
Captain Cafu was chosen because he is a person who shares several values with the Brazilian rural producer: he is resilient and obstinate, values his homeland, values family and believes that it is possible to share prosperity through work.
We know that there are many challenges in the path of Brazilian agriculture. But it is important to remember that we already know the way to “turn the game”. Just remember that the best human development indexes (HDI) in Brazil are in the regions where we develop a more modern and productive agriculture.
As in football, in agriculture Brazil also has a very strong team on the field. A true selection of men and women farmers who work tirelessly to offer the country a plentiful production of food, fiber, biofuels and renewable energy (wind, photovoltaic and biomass).
I hope that this team of field heroes continues to overcome difficulties, scoring goals for the benefit of Brazil's economy, and sowing the joy of life in each daily game.
I'm rooting for this team that leaves its sweat on the fields of Brazil every day. They are men and women who dedicate their lives to the mission of producing food for other people, who often reciprocate with criticism instead of support.
Due to the challenges of the business, it is essential that our field team receives adequate technical support. Technical support is taken to the field daily by agronomists, zootechnicians, veterinarians and other highly qualified professionals. A large technical commission that helps the farmer to implement the best tactics in the field and beat productivity opponents.
I really hope that this team with study, preparation and technology, continues vibrating and celebrating alongside the rural producer with each victorious season, with each unsuccessful harvest!
Anyway, the crowd is for this field strength to always reap the greatest victories and continue to take Brazil's agribusiness to the top of the podium as the best in the world!
Our fans are for “Agro”, our fans are for football!
Because in Brazil, our strength is in the field!
